LYR (Land Yacht Regatta) is Huddersfield author and current British poet laureate Simon Armitage, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Richard Walters and multi-instrumentalist producer Patrick Pearson (a former member of Liu Bei).
Described by The Times as "clear, emotionally resonant lyrics from the poet laureate and his band, set to music that shifts between the textured seriousness of Sigur Ros and the clattering dynamism of the Fall," and The Guardian as "providing ambient post-rock passages, jazz flourishes and atonal experimentalism."
