With their plane delayed due to a power cut, George and Lynda Sumner debate the meaning of life, the common bluebottle, sex tapes and the pros and cons of WH Smith… but it soon becomes clear that Lynda’s journey is one way and that George has been hiding a painful secret for all of their married life…

Written and directed by LGBTQ+ writer David Payne, one of the winners of the ITV1 sketch show Shoot The Writers. As core writer of the award winning Laughlines Comedy Entertainment, he wrote stage parody tributes to classic sitcoms including Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses and The Vicar of Dibley before landing storyline opportunities with Hollyoaks online and EastEnders. He was twice a finalist in Playwright at The Little Theatre and has had work showcased at The Hope Mill, Manchester and The Curve Theatre, Leicester.

He has written short films and has two stage musicals currently in development. He has recently been commissioned to write his third play for Just Some Theatre following tours of his twisted comedy thrillers, The Killer Question and The Plot Thickens. He was part of the Birmingham Hippodrome New Musical Theatre Writer’s Group and wrote an episode of the urban drama Seaview in association with the Coventry Belgrade. He also contributed to sketches for the CBBC comedy Class Dismissed and is a Producer and Director on BBC Radio 4’s The Archers.
